チリのエネル・ディストリブシオンは、サンティアゴ首都州の中低圧配電網約2,500kmを、ヘリコプターとドローンで熱画像・LiDARを使って点検した。冬までに樹木の伐採などの予防保全につなげる計画である。発見した不具合の数や効果は示されておらず、ドローンの分担も分からない。

これまで
地上巡視が中心で、樹木の接近など電線への脅威を広い範囲で把握しにくかった。
ドローンでは
中低圧配電線約2,500kmを2段階（900kmと1,600km）で飛行し、熱画像とLiDARで発熱箇所と樹木の高さ・距離を調べた。私有地を写さないよう電線の上空を飛び、民間航空総局（DGAC）の許可の下で日中に行った。
