District council notice that contractor Stantec's certified pilots will fly small drones under three bridges to capture detailed imagery for 3D models used as virtual site visits. Orion announced that an automated drone, overseen remotely by Ferntech from Auckland, will regularly inspect the Norwood substation and a 66 kV line after the CAA approved autonomous operation following trials, which Orion calls a New Zealand first.
